Fashion For Grown-Ups - This is what it looks like to be over 40!
First Friday of the Month - and it's Giveway time! You know how much I love my gold Havaiana jandals (flip-flops). Now you have the chance to own some too. (Don't worry you get the left one too.) The winner will be drawn - randomly - on Friday 10 June. So to be in to win:
1. Be a follower and
2. Leave a comment.
It's nearly summer hols - kids are out in two weeks - but the rain, thunder and cold continues to dominate in the East Bay (oooer missus! Look at me being weather girl). Still, Lisa and I thought we'd summon Ra with a few bright colours and bare legs.
My start-of-summer resolution is to re-balance the yin yang. Wednesday night found me out at a tiki bar with two other mothers celebrating the end of a nightmare carpool. (And that's a story for another day) Result: I missed yoga the next morning. Particularly slack as the yoga teacher comes to our house! Less of the Mai Tai and more of the namaste...
Finally Happy Birthday to lovely Lisa, the yummiest, funniest mum in Coco County, and a great friend. Look at these collages and tell me who is the photographer - I have cropping envy!
Jody:
1. A six-year-old Zara dress worn to near-disintegration - just had to toss belt in re-cycling. New belt: Anthropologie. Clutch: BCBG Hat: H&M. Rope sandals: Stuart Weizman. At first I thought the grey clutch and white fedora went okay with the dress. But in the photo it looks like I'm posting a letter on the way to bowls. C'mon Mildred, dear. Off we trot!
2. Shirt: Vince. If I buy anymore of this teal blue they'll have to name it after me. Jeans: Ralph Lauren. This is, of course, the classic "pulling the finger of the driftwood chair" pose.. .
3. Worn this top - Ella Moss from Hawthorn, Oakland - loads already. Jeans: AG. Metallic wedges: Pura Lopez. For some reason, in the rest of the photos I had two fingers in the belt loop. Dodgy rather than daggy.

Lisa:
1. Hula Hoop sequined top – Alice&Olivia. Happy = a hula hoop. Happier = sequins. Happiest = both at once on a sunny afternoon.
2. Mother’s Day Tea pink dress was from J Crew + trusty Manolos.
3. What I want: I am crazy about Madewell right now. I have this Madewell pleated sun dress in army green and pair it with a thick woven leather belt from Ann Taylor and Michael Kors wedges. It’s def my favorite new go-to dress.
4.Kate Spade yellow dress that I wore to the FL beach wedding w/Jcrew necklace.

I had to laugh at the "yoga teacher comes to our house" part :), but I do love your goal of re-balancing the yin yang. I have been feeling off balance too. Especially when it comes to the kids & *cleaning, as I sorta shared on a previous comment. My goal is to re-balance this week... which is why I'm up bright and early doing my blog reading! :) ...You both look gorgeous in every picture!!
ReplyDeleteYay, I want those flip flops desperately!! xx

Look at you two adorable girls! Isn't it a shame that yoga and drinking don't go better together--I've missed many a class as a result of that combination not working out so well. Okay, well not too many--but enough to feel the twinge of familiarity with your story! Hope you're off to a happy week Jody!

I would love to be considered for this giveaway! Thanks for doing this. The flip flops are great! And you and your friend look beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on the Internet for a little while, so I'm happy I popped in just in time for a giveaway! ;) You ladies look great. I especially like the Zara dress and the Alice & Olivia top!
ReplyDeleteKatie
i see there's some stiff competition for the golden pair of slippers this week...but it is so ON, ladies!!! I'm feeling lucky.
ReplyDeleteThe other thing i love for summer but no longer WANT/NEED (b/c i just bought a bunch) are Lesley Evers tunics and dresses. SO easy to throw on with the flip flops or dress up with my Barcelona wedges that Jody helped me purchase. by the way, Jody had those gold Havianas on every day, so she is giving away something that she loves...hopefully NEW ones:-)
