Trust Your Style

Today I'm thrilled to be featured on Trust Your Style, the nationally syndicated blog of Laguna Beach-based fashion designer Mary Jo Matsumoto. Mary Jo's pieces have been worn by Angelina Jolie, Robin Wright Penn, Joan Rivers and Mary Hart and have appeared on Oprah. Pop on over and take a look.

One of the rewarding things about blogging is the people you "meet." I found Mary Jo's blog about four months ago. When I head down to her place I'm instantly transported to SoCal, moving through the vibrant art world, shiny beaches and shinier celebrity. Mary Jo's take on life, fashion and art is warm, informed, funny and sensible (not always a word associated with LA.)

Hopefully one day we'll meet in Malibu, have a cocktail of the hour and transform from URL friends to In Real Life (IRL) friends.

    i actually have no plans for the weekend, let alone summer. haha. now that i am done with school, i have a whole summer waiting for me... hopefully, it'll be filled with fun and spontaneous adventures. :)

    Sadly, I'm not sure what my style is going to be. I was born wearing a shirt and tie; that doesn't work so well in retirement. One more thing for me to discover.

    My weekend atire on Saturday will be whatever I wake up in (probably what I wore the previous day) as I plan to hibernate and possibly clear a desk top for me to fantasize about being creative. Sunday I shall be wearing 27 layers back up at the ice rink for another competition. My baby girl's on at 4.30 but has only 3 in her group which means a medal of sorts for sure = great ....but... this also means we HAVE to stay to the bitter end (about 8.00) ! I cannot fit enough socks in my boots to keep my feet alive for that long. So not so glam as you my dear but hey!!!

    My favorite thing about blogging is the friends that I make, as well. I have met some of the most amazing people online through my blog. I love how blogging forms a tight knit community of people with similar interests. :)

    Gah! I take back everything nice I just said to you on my blog. Are you seriously 49? You look about 29, ergo I do not like you and we cannot be friends. I do like your son however, and his sense of humour (neck ironing)... *assumes the foetal position and sobs uncontrollably whilst gazing into a hand-mirror* Maybe if I moved to Californ-i-a I could look like that too (some hope).

    Jody, I loved your post- and picture! You look absolutely gorgeous!

    My favorite part is the part about "after 49 years"- finally sticking to tailored and fitted. It makes me feel better knowing that not everyone (including myself) has their *look/style down by the time they hit 30. I feel like I'm just beginning to figure it out!
