Friday Giveaway: Metal Earth Earings

Today we have an incredibly generous giveaway of hand-crafted gold and silver hoop earings from Metal Earth Studios in the East Bay, California.  These fabulous medium-sized hoops are sterling silver and feature silver and 14K gold hammered and textured tabs. The two women behind Metal Earth, Rebecca Longenecker and Meghan Zimmerman, are warm, wonderful artists and mothers and I've known them for nine years. Like their jewelery, these women have a luminosity that brightens whereever they are, whether it be watching their children play baseball or working in their studio. When Rebecca and Meghan get back from visiting family on the East Coast, I'm looking forward to interviewing them about how they got started, their design philosophy and how they mix business with family. As you might remember I already have the Metal Earth necklace and I have to say, I barely take it off. Whether you're running errands, relaxing on the beach or eating at your favourite restaurant, this jewelery is perfect.  It has a Big Sur romance and permanence but is light with a silky feel and makes any t-shirt or top look complete.

    Oooh they look niiiiice. Had a go at copper bashing last week and made a lovely shiny bowl which I now keep the beads from broken bracelets in - hoping to inspire me to do something with them. Now I want to make jewellery myself as I seem to have developed a growing obsession. I love things I can fiddle with. (Feels so much better to fondle a dimpled pendant or ring of stones than investigating the inside of my nose. Or indeed someone else's.... )

    I needed to make the comment that those earrings are full of bohemian chic...and that I, too, am full of bohemian chic. And to say what God has brought together let no blog cast asunder. (just trying for points even though I know its a drawing;). I've also been wondering what happened with the mean and dirty hip hop class and the battle for the front row? Did I missa blog on it? And hows a bout a little trip to the outer sunset to check out outerlands, trouble coffee, the general store, and a few other little treasures popping up out at the beach for the next time folks head over to the zoo with their kiddies?
