Tallulah Goes On A Photoshoot

On Friday morning, Tallulah, 11, was a (very) junior intern on a photoshoot for my dress designer friend Lesley.  It was Lesley's Spring line for next year. For three hours Tallulah held the light thingy and generally helped where she could.  She saw that even in a seemingly "glamorous" industry like fashion, everyone works really hard.

I dropped her off at the shoot at Lesley's house where I briefly met Kaitlyn , the model. Kaitlyn is 17 and graduated from High School last year. It was 9am and she had already driven four hours from her home in Reno to Oakland for the job. I said goodbye to Tallulah and headed off to my fabulous new world of heinous medical tests required when you turn 50. Say. No. More.

Lesley's previous two photo shoots were at our house which you might have read about here and here. I was fascinated by the incredible transformation of the models. When I saw Tallulah in the afternoon I expected her to talk about the model's long legs, how slim she was (she's nearly 5.9 and has a 24 inch waist!) how her hair got curled, how she posed.

What was the model like? I asked Tallulah: "Really nice" she said. "She's the sort of nice friend you want to have in High School."

What did she look like after she'd had her make-up and hair done? I asked "Not sure" said Tallulah "Can't remember really." Then she brightened. "But did you see she's a San Francisco Giants fan? She turned up in a Giants jacket. Cool."
