My Macklemore Moment. What, what? What?

Sometimes a certain song sums up your life at that time - don't you reckon? This weekend we headed up to Squaw in Tahoe and the song playing in constant rotation on the radio was Thriftshop by Macklemore. Not all the lyrics are like living with kids, just the slow and constant "What what? What?" throughout.


Tallulah and Cy - look around and smile. What what? What?

It's like being trapped in a Mafia crime scene, I thought as my husband and I came across five empty candy bags in our room and then tried to find Cy's gloves. Stuff is not done, stuff is forgotten, stuff is taken and stuff is not put back.  And noooo one knows anything. Nooo one saw anything. Nooo one even remembers where they were at the time.

Who took my phone? What what? What? Who took my last $20 dollars? What what? What? Who bought five bags of candy? Why aren't any of you wearing your ski jackets, where are your goggles! What what what!!!

You guys ordered chips and fries for lunch? What what? What?
Who made this room such a bloody big mess? What what, what?

    I play Adam Levine over and over again and tune out the kids. That makes room for more pleasant thoughts. : )

    Well, I've just been watching the Oscars and I've got all those awful Les Mis numbers in my head. Plus an image of Russell Crowe. I know, I'm only hurting myself.

    Hahahaha! Love it! Hmmmm... I think the No Doubt song "Settle Down" has been playing on repeat in my head particularly the lines "I'm a rough and tough and nothings going to knock this girl down." Life has been so hectic that this is sort of my motivational anthem!

      Good on you! Good anthem for a new working Mum who's on the move again! (And apparently all these life coaches say we should only do one thing a year - prove them wrong.)

      Beryl - love Men At Work. Was actually playing them them the other day. Went down a Rabbit's Hole of Youtubing (starting with Fine Young Cannibals, one of the kids had just said "suspicious" and that set me off)

    I have had that song from FUN. stuck in my head - you know the one where they sing. "Where are young. SO let's set the world on fire.."

    Love that your life has just the right amount of chaos. Life is messy and confusing and awfully!

      Now I will be singing that all morn into my latte! Life is messy. I remember my friend in London got a couple of huge dogs just because she said their life was too ordered and they needed to mess it up a little.

    Jody- My aunt volunteers to work at a thrift shop, so Son H called her and sang her the lyrics to Thrift Shop. (Very cute from a seven year old.)

    And poor Rosie has a pair of velcro sneakers she does not like (mainly because they are pink) but we sing "Man, she's got the velcros..." to her. We have never had so much fun with a song's lyrics.

    Jody this was totally us last week on break. Why is it no one can keep their sh-- together..I tell you I am rethinking our Summer getaway after close quarters with my lot.
    I think my soundtrack is Fix You, but it's not happening!

      We are totally re-thinking the summer - as in babysitter for a week while we go to Jackson Hole. We suggested Cuba for Easter and you could not believe the whining!

    We have those moments too..I ask what happened and everyone looks at me like I'm crazy!! No idea what our song would be, it could be many of things! But, we do have those moments, haha! xx

    I volunteer at the school garage/rummage sale. We collect stuff every Tuesday morning and hold the world's biggest sale in May. Someone sent me that link a few weeks ago and I had JUST removed it from my brain! Thanks - I'll be back to singing it all day again!
