Wendy reckons she "sucks at Halloween." Well, if she has one pumpkin on her porch that's 100 percent more decorating than I've done this year for Halloween - or as Cy calls it "The birth of the Candy Gods." Today I did take some snaps of three genius-easy costumes ideas while Tallulah was shopping at her favorite second hand store
Crossroads. Just in case you need a last minute costume...
|
All you need for this one is to cut out a paper beard and stick on a slip. |

Hipster Waldo Just Wants to Find Himself. |
|
Wanda, The SouthWest Witch. (Just wear black with a touch of Santa Fe) |
Some others we've have done in past years, though not all for Halloween.

Sarah, Lesley and Sally doing Seventies, baby. I know who to come to for white boots |

Me and Kevin being the Green Day guys, Billie Jo and Tre Cool. They used to live around the corner - wonder if this costume had anything to do with them moving away? |
|
Back of Green Day |

Andrew and Caryn doing Avatar |
|
Vicki and Michael - The Hangover |
|
Me and Kevin being Wacky Races. Teddy is McMutley. I'm not going to win any Oscars with my scared face - put some effort into it girl! |
|
Tallulah and friend Ariana are Cookie Monsters. Cy is a baseball fan |

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of costume should a Bear wear?
Blessings and Bear hugs, Jody
The bear fur is good for every ocasion I am thinking
DeleteI can't believe how creative you and your friends are! You make a brilliant Boy George and how weird to see you with dark hair as Green Day. Most impressive.
ReplyDeleteAs my friend Mike says, you guys dress up more than your kids (it's true!) The thing is we have to have a lot of fundraisers for our school and they are all themed. We always have a great time!
Deleteahhh, you know how to live.
ReplyDeleteLove your fish shaking hands on your blog today. Real life is stranger than fiction!
DeleteYou make a terrific Penelope Pitstop. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think the costume had enough shiny pink though...
DeleteI think you rock at Halloween! I love the Royal Tenenbaums especially, though admit to a soft spot for wacky races!
ReplyDeleteNever tire of that Tenebaum thing, I have friends who I always tease are the epitomy of that family
DeleteHahahaha...all of these costumes were amazing, I loved it :))) Happy Halloween xx
ReplyDeleteTo you too!
DeleteWow, you sure never lack for costume ideas, awesome
ReplyDeleteits just goes on and on, good larfs
DeleteI love the Whacky Races one! They're all brilliant, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
Sx
We;re expecting a downfall of rain today MS, after months of drought it decides to storm on Halloween - witches afoot
DeleteLove the costumes! Boy George was great! Haven't dressed up in years. Our apartment building (we were living in quarters in Germany) did up the basement as a haunted house and all dressed up, I was a witch. I was a special ed aide at the time and some of my students came through. One was scared and his Mom said, " Don't be afraid, it's your teacher." He really did wig out then.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's hilarious! How sweet that you got your students to come through. I did not know you'd lived in Germany, so did Kevin, he loved it there
DeleteThese are great!! I love dressing up in goofy costumes. You do it well!!
ReplyDeleteThese were a scream!!! Love the Boy George and Viking Grrrrl.
ReplyDeleteSuch creative ideas!!! I love the Green Day one!
ReplyDeleteI was a huge culture club fan back in the day! Great costume.
ReplyDeleteOne day maybe I'll have the courage to join in but for now I leave it to the kids.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is always so much fun. I LOVE the viking costume :-)
ReplyDeleteWow - you are so good at your costumes. We seriously do the worst attempts at them in our place. My daughter flatly refused to go trick or treating in a princess or fairy costume (in Australia they all think they have to be something scary), so after tears and tantrums I quickly ripped up a sheet and cut some eye holes in it so she could be a ghost.
ReplyDeleteMr AV once dressed as a ghost buster for a 21st party with his mum's vacuum cleaner strapped to his back, and I did a Josie and the Pussycats costume (remember that cartoon?) by sticking black cardboard ears onto a leopard print headband and wearing otherwise normal clothes.
We definitely would not fit with your friends! xxx
That is such a good idea with the vacuum cleaner, you would get extra points for doing a costume with a household item attached.
DeleteLOVED Josie when I was a kid
A PLUS on ALL your costumes!!!!SORRY I'm a tad late to the PARTY!
ReplyDeleteOh so fab!! I wanted those white boots so badly in 4th grade and I had to learn my frickin multiplication tables before I could buy them. I finally got them in 5th. They were so worth it! What fun you guys have. Love these pics!!xx
ReplyDeleteFinally I'm getting back into some kind of routine after my holiday and that means catching up on my blog reading! So many fun costumes. You really are creative. Boy George - amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove Hipster Waldo. LOL! x
ReplyDeleteGood last-minute ideas!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes!
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes. Particularly liked Boy George and the sixties gals.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chuckle. These are such great costumes!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun night if I only lived closer
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Jody!! Still blogging right??
