Vince jeans - they're more dusty (dusky?) pink than lilac they look here. Theory cardy, and trusty old Stuart Weitzman rope sandals |
Pink is not a colour I've formerly allowed in the house (strict mistress) but somehow it's crept in and shook the place awake, truth be told.
Then something happened. A summit meeting of all Teddy's "people" - the vet, the surgeon, the physical therapist (we've not yet engaged the dog psychic I've mentioned before, but obviously she would have known about the meeting) suggested that, following Teddy's knee surgery, our bare wood stairs might present a hazard to him.
Witness our new Missoni carpet bits on the stairs (featuring pink!) and Teddy's inaugural descension! (captured on the time-lapse thingy on Kevin's Galaxy phone)

What's your philosophy to pink in general and pink pants in particular? Spill the beans! Lots of exclamation marks today.
I avoid pink anything at my sea, but does that really surprise thee? lol
ReplyDeleteWhat about the FT?
Deleteheehee
a good accessory
The Missoni bits are divine. Love those pants on you. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe only Missoni bit that will find their way into our house sadly...
DeleteVery interesting. I also thought I needed a pair of pink pants but they've sat unworn on my shelf for a while now. You look good in yours, maybe I'll go dig mine out and see what I can do!
ReplyDeleteI've just done the white with them, haven't tried anything tricky yet. though Dani says brown and khaki are good with them
DeleteCan you clone Teddy? I wuff him.
ReplyDeleteI've been having my own pink pants adventure, and will be spending tomorrow returning SEVEN pairs. If that isn't bad enough, I'm keeping two - a deep pink silk and a pale pink cotton. Shame on me.
I wuff him too. He's so wuffable
DeleteP>S you are on a veritable pink odyssey, I can see that happening to me too
DeleteSEVEN pairs?? I'm off to stalk your blog, Fred!
DeleteI LOVE pink! It makes me happy. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pink! Enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fan of pink, but some women wear it very well. I think you do. Actually I think generally blonde women with blue eyes can do pink better than anyone else.
ReplyDeleteThey say there's a shade for everyone
DeletePink is very soothing but I think like yourself, Dani and Tiffany Rose - you all have great figures so you can get away with it! Teddy is adorable...
ReplyDeleteYou look great .... my bridesmaids (many many years ago) wore the colour of your scarf......and lets face it with a figure like yours you can get away with most things...pink and all its variants look great I think ... as do duck egg blue ...eau du nil....cream......I feel a shopping trip coming on.....
ReplyDeleteLove duck egg blue and all the colours that sound like confections
DeleteWow fab stairs and look at little Teddy. He clearly approves. As far as pink, adore it in clothes and you are making me envious of those pink Vinces! The shade is lovely. In the house, we don't have much...You know there's all men and me here. They might revolt. I have some in my closet though! xx
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely gorg in your pink. I am not sure about such a colour across the derrière, but love it on others. Your stair treatment via Missoni is a treat. I am glad three obedient courses, a dog training specialist, dog anti-depressants and a battery operated shock collar (to curb lunatic barking...$350 don't worry it doesn't hurt them...and never used!!) is behind me and I have a very gentle geriatric poodle. The things we do...
ReplyDeleteXxx
I was feeling guilty the other day about the number of Teddy's people, then a conversation at school made me realise many other people's dogs have similar entourages.
DeleteI seem to remember having a pair of pinkish jeans in the past, but it's not a colour I wear much (if ever these days). Your outfit is very stylish, as ever, and you have a knack for accessories that makes everything look really good on you.
ReplyDeleteAs for the bits of carpet, are they stuck on? They look very snazzy, but dangerously slippery for humans if not stuck to the stairs!
Yes completely stuck on apparently, but they can peel off when needed. major double sided tape or something
DeleteI am always cautious about pink, but sometimes there is something special about it. I tend to a dusty variety (like you) and steer away from the more shocking or vibrant options. Although, somehow with a little girl in the house, we seemed to have accumulated several pink toys.....
ReplyDeleteGet ready for a coupla years of the colour (with max sparkles) and then all of a sudden they totally swear off it.
DeleteWhat a lucky pampered pooch his own Missoni carpet! I am coming back as your pet. I'm not a pink girl at all but I think you look wonderful, you have an amazing slinky figure.
ReplyDeleteI know. Hopefully the psychic will convey to him how lucky he is
DeletePink is ultra feminine and calms the nerves, "they" paint pink some drunk tanks and opposition locker rooms for a desired effect. Like all pale colors, I think pink can be elegant for trousers but your pink jeans are sassy, you'll make strong men weak.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the love, love!
Ha ha! I will have an arm wrestle with Kevin while wearing my trou as an experiment! (did you see there is a new reality show about arm wresting, I only know this because it was advertised while i was binge watching the new Mad Men)
Deletewell I love pink actually, but I had a pair of pale pink pants a la Dani, but ended up giving them away - I just never wore them. I did take coral chinos with me to Florida and would likely wear them in June out for a night, maybe, but I just tend to reach for plain jeans or black or ecru pants these days. I think you look like a million bucks in these pants!
ReplyDeleteWendy, will check out those Florida posts for sightings of said coral chinos.
Deleteoh and yay for Teddy and love those carpet runners!
ReplyDeletelove the pants. I find pink calming. x
ReplyDelete'tis.
DeleteThose really do look lilac and quite lovely on you. Pink is a colour I do favour on women as I am quite drawn to feminine women (although many a tomboy has caught my eye too) but I can't recall seeing pink pants. Perhaps it's because those feminine women prefer (as I do) a nice piece of skirt.
ReplyDeleteGSL, love the look of a frock or skirt, but I never end up wearing them.
DeleteI'm a fan of pink...pants, stairs, flowers, you name it. Go for 5 days with that outfit because it looks fabulous on you!
ReplyDeleteI love pink and have lots of pink tops - don't think I ever had pink jeans, although I did once have a lilac pair. It definitely brightens up an outfit.
ReplyDeleteStrangely, I bought some pink stripey bathroom mats - they liven the shower room up no end!
ReplyDeleteI might have a go at the pink jeans thing.... I'm still looking for white jeans as well... but it's not warm enough yet.
Sx
I hear you on the white jeans. I bought these while looking for new white jeans, in despair
DeleteYou wear those pink jeans like a rock star! Love that you wore them four days in a row. Glad to know I am not the only one who does that when an outfit is working. The stair treatment is brilliant. For me, pink has it's place, but selectively.
ReplyDeleteThe late Princess Diana wore pink jeans to visit prince Charles when he broke his wrist playing polo! Lots of p's there . There was much more excitement about the jeans than the poor princes' calamity - R, London.
ReplyDeleteThose are pink pants perfection! You wore them 4 days in a row... see it's a thing! Pink pants yeah! Thanks for the lovely mention I was so happy to read this post, I'm just back from the west coast and ready for pink pants. And how happy am I to see teddy tra-la-la-ing up and down his new stair runners!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Givusacall if you're ever in SF! Yep, the old Tedmeister is a back in stripey action
ReplyDeleteLove these pinkish pants. I'd wear that outfit four days in a row too!! I used to wear pink a lot but the older I've gotten the less I do. I'm too much a little old lady to wear pink now...unless I get a really tight perm and wear othorpedic shoes. xoJennifer
ReplyDeleteHaha, I am def needed the ortho shoes at this stage
DeleteThe only pink I spy around here is many of the draught tolerant plants in the garden are pink. I choose them for the foliage first... blooms are a bonus.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Yes just noticed we have some too. In fact if I don't water the succulents they turn pinky too, maybe torturing them?
DeleteI am a pink girl now not a barbie pink girl ugh! I am a dusty pink/lilac girl. I probably wear this colour in scarves and trousers. The colour suits blondes well.
ReplyDeleteLucky Teddy getting missoni carpet I wonder could I work a way of getting the experts to say I need the same.
We aimed for Barbie pink walls in our London kitchen flat, formerly a coal cellar (the floors were black and white tile) it turned out more Morroccan pink and maybe that was a good thing.
DeleteI highly disliked pink growing up, I never wore it until I had my girls really. I found some shades that I like and I think if you come to like it, it's better. I think growing up as girls it's like just assumed that you will love pink being a girl. But, pink was actually created for boys & blue was for girls, not sure where it got changed over the time. Pink trousers are actually ok, I could wear them here and there. I tend to like pink with blacks or greys, balances it out for me :)) xx
ReplyDeleteI don't think i ever wore pink as a girl but then we had a uniform and Mum made our clothes and my assigned colour was blue (my sister complains today that she got the brown)
DeleteLove the pink jeans on you. And can't get over how AH-MAH-ZING you look!
ReplyDeleteHi MM, thanks for popping in from across 't pond
DeleteUsed to think Pink pants were silly until I saw Faux Fushia's Pink jeans last year. Now I am a fan. As easy to coordinate as beige without the boredom. You looks terrific in yours! Glad to see Teddy doing well. And I agree that any Psychic worth hiring would have divined that their presence was required and been there already.
ReplyDeleteHi Beryl, yes am doubting the psychic's credential as we speak
DeleteI love dusty/dusky pink, and can appreciate it on others, but it's not particularly flattering on me. I think I also avoid it because I'm so petite, and try to avoid looking 'girly' or 'cute'.... I get called 'cute' all the time because of my height and it makes me want to punch people. GRRR!
ReplyDeleteLove your pink jeans - you're such a hot chick! Teddy is a lucky dawg indeed!
Hi Ruth, I bet you get loads of small but mightys too?
DeleteI will do pink, but not overdo it. I like it dark, pastel or in between although there are some shades that don't work and Im not sure why.
ReplyDeleteThose pants are beautiful on you. And if youve worn them so often already you know you made the right choice
Agree, pink needs to use judiciously. I just saw pics of Pippa in pink jeans and loads of black with it which just make it look harsh.
DeleteHow coincidental. My latest post probably tells you more that I can in this box about my relationship with pink. Unlike your lovely self, as a fair (skin and hair) person, I can't do the lighter, duskier pinks; I get all washed out and sick looking. I have to go for the jewel pink, and I love it.
ReplyDeleteMy 21 year old claims she was "over-pinked" as a child and now never wears it.
The pink jeans look great on you!
ReplyDeleteI love that outfit! And I've always loved pink, in my teens it was the only colour I'd wear, usually a pale baby pink too but I was stick thin in those days (and in my mind's eye several inches taller too!)
ReplyDeleteI waited a long time to have a daughter so we could add pink to the house together, and her favourite colour is blue. :-(
I love all three of you in pink trews, but for myself the idea makes me quail.
ReplyDeleteTeddy, however, makes me want to run down the stairs singing at the top of my voice. Sadly there are no Missoni squares on ours. What an incredibly glamorous way to solve a problem! I remain in awe of your household, even though you don't iron your sheets! ;-)
I love all the pink details in the photos of this post and I know what you mean about pink pants, but I love the dusty rose color. I LOVE the way you decorated the stairs.
