This Is What Procrastination Looks Like...

Now. Before I do anything, I'll just take a little look at this photo. Wee bit of a click in before I get started. Old Ingrid looks great with these high waisted pants with the pleat. Is she wearing two belts with those strides? Interesting.

Oh here's another photo of Rita doing the high waisters, different look for her isn't it. I like it.

Wish Nicole would dye her hair back to real curly red: that extreme blonde she does now washes her out. Like this wild one because this seems to be the opposite of what she is...one director called her a thoroughbred. Not sure what that means?

Oh, look, there's a candid of Marilyn. Apparently someone took a snap of her while she was eating lunch at the staff cafeteria. People were always doing that to me too when I was at the caf scarfing down my bangers and mash. She looks hecka charmant as per.

Joanne and Paul with dog; he was very slim-hipped wasn't he? Paul not the dog...

And finally Rachel, all that without the aid of surgical pulleys, levers or pillows. Those were the days. Oh heck.

Where did I find these photos? Can't recall now. But these are the pretty faces of my most ugliest of bad habits. To borrow (or is it lend, I''ll just look that up..) a phrase from our Wendy, I'm a pro at procrastination.

Are you a fellow sufferer? Thoughts? Tips? Maybe we should think about it after lunch?

  3. Some Vigilantress on PC patrol bit my head off for referring to Ines de la Fressange as a thoroughbred who is the gold standard as far as I'm concerned. I urged her to swing by Mirriam-Webster to deliver an ass-chewing on my behalf to their editors since they use 'thoroughbred soldier' in their first example.

Unfortunately, she ran away to look for another grievance opportunity.

  4. I wondered if this particular director meant that she (Nicole) was nervy and neurotic? Probably not, just that she liked to get things right! Nothing wrong with that.
When I hassle my husband about his delicate constitution, he always refers to his assertion that he is a finely tuned thoroughbred.
I am of the plowing spud fields breed.

  5. Lazy, yes...procrastinator, no. I prefer to get my one task a day done by the end of the week. I also wish Nicole would go back to the curly red.

  6. GSL - just looked up your link. Thoroughbred - Thoroughly trained, that's an meaning that I'd not heard before. Will be using it in that sense with abandon from now on it, hopefully without admonishment....
is this a bit like when you (one) pronounces Moet correctly with a "t' and everyone thinks you (one) is a pleb?

    1. Jody, I'd love an opportunity to butcher that pronunciation...several times in an evening...but my coffers only allow for a very perfectly elocuted "YellowTail Cab" now priced to move at $4.99 per at my grocer.

    2. Also need to lay to rest the "ondeeve" debate - I heard that was the way to pronounce it (endive) from a proper Belgian but a friend keeps insisting you can ALSO pronounce it en-dive.
Anyone have the final word on this???
      the procrastination continues....

  7. BB - I would start a Facebook campaign - Bring Back Red, but too lazy and can't get on it

  8. It's not that I procrastinate, but rather that I get distracted, not my fault. Oh I wish I were tall enough to wear high waisted pants, but at my height they'd be at my neck.

  9. Nope, I get things done and then be lazy haha

  10. I'm not sure that Nicole was ever a natural Redhead. I have been led to believe by someone in the hairdressing industry that Knows that her natural colour is mouse brown. To be honest she looks vastly different from back in her BMX bandit days in many, many ways.
Great photos, love the high waisted pants! Tres Chic.
As for procrastination, well, I usually force myself to do something and then get to do something as a reward for doing the work and set a time limit that doesn't seem so bad, like 1 hour, or 2 hours and then I will spend x time doing xyz. Like read a book, or have a nap… or waste time on the internet. xx

  11. I pledge a sister club-distraction. unable to procrastinate as it makes me anxious and frustrated, I am accomplished at distraction and only stay at the amateur level to maintain my Olympic eligibility
After all, Boston is up for bid for the summer Olympics, if you've ever heard anything so asinine. Though we could perhaps rent out our house for ridiculous amount of dosh.

See? Now Im talking about renting my house. I just got distracted from my comment on getting distracted

  14. Unless Kevin is the organizer in your house then I doubt the procrastination tag for you....you seem to have trips and balls and parties and outings and stuff all sorted all the time...do you have an assistant??...and are you going to go with the wide high waisted trouser? you would look so cool in them...x

  16. Hello Jody,

Even though we have only known you for the briefest possible time we should beg to differ on your notion of procrastination. You manage to get through a mountain of things before the rest of the world has even thought about let alone eaten breakfast.

Now we are the utmost of Lazy Tarts. We can teach you things about procrastination, distraction or just plain laziness that you never dreamed possible!

But, we love these vintage photographs wherever they came from. Ingrid encompassing Riviera Style is simply divine but, then, she can do no wrong for us.

So, dear Jody, you just slide into the New Year because the rest of us will be hanging on your shirt tails!!

  18. I am usually not too bad about procrastination. I tired to wear those high-waisted pants once but couldn't pull it off.

I'm trying to change my ways this year, and I'm giving myself to December. So far; so good.

  25. Ingrid could wear a sack and look delightful. BTW that's where our waists used to be. I've always had a theory that the pill made even the skinniest women fleshier and the waist line went walkabout.
When Rita started in films I believe her hair grew so low on her brow they had to shave it.
    Always love Marilyn.
My BIL used to look like Paul- he's 90 now- but his brother - MTL was the looker - inside and out.

Apparently Marilyn had her hair taken back too
