My Ahnu walking shoes are going well, no blisters
I keep asking myself what didnt I more and why didnt I read about the history on the plane instead of watching Spiderman. No matter, pilgrims true of heart walk on, just putting one foot in front of the other.
One incredibly thing is how encouraging the villagers are. They all call "Buen Camino!!!" - as you pass. They are proud of you. Here's breakfast from yesterday at Carmen's in Zubiri- check out the toilet doors.
I am well versed in every loo and amenable tree along the way if youre interested. Signing off with my trail name, The Peeing Kiwi, hopefully soon to be Warrior Walker
It looks stunning and I love the photo of you snogging. You should eat cake for every meal, got to keep that energy up x
ReplyDeleteBuen camino!!! Right off the plane and straight into it too. I hope you aren't even getting jetlagged from the walks!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! We are so proud of you (and your feet!) !!!
ReplyDeleteIt may have been an intense walk, but wow, what amazing sights!!
ReplyDeleteSuck it up baby, you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteLoving those loo doors!
ReplyDeleteAnd the picture of the church - very atmospheric... and the picture of the kissing couple!
Blisters?
Sx
That first day IS brutal and like no other on the way! I stayed at that hotel in Roncevalles with the cool floor. Next big stop is Burgos in about five days. In the meantime, enjoy all the gorgeous little towns with flowers you will walk through! Loved reading this post!
ReplyDeleteWell you're off! I am wondering how a 7 hour walk took 11 hours? The ordinary delays of traffic and missed turns don't seem to apply. I hope your choice of footwear is proving to be wise. We're proud of you too Jody!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish you wonderful weather and a slight downhill walk (is that possible?) and the wind at your back (of course!) What a beautiful place. I'm sure it will be transformative!
ReplyDeleteYOU GO GIRL...............LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteYOU CAN DO THIS!!!
We are here to HELP YOU!!!
Well done !.......very proud of you.....onwards and upwards Jody...x
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing adventure! Cheering for the Peeing Kiwi!
ReplyDeleteI am in awe! This is something about which most of us only dream and talk. You are doing it and that is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWell done, these pictures are beautiful!! xx
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm loving all the photos, well done!
ReplyDeleteWell done! That's a very long walk but how lovely that the villagers are so encouraging. So many wonderful sights along the way, the amazing flowers, cutest church and of course those toilet doors!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see some of your photos, Jody! Hope you are having a grand time!
ReplyDeleteWonderful memories. I love the patina of those old coloured photos - they have a romantic otherworld look.
ReplyDeleteWell done! I wish I had done the Santiago thing.
I don't know how you jumped right in, with jet lag, but you are rockin it! I binged on 'Orange is the New Black' rather than study the history on our way to Spain in July. Sometimes you've got to keep it simple ;). Walk on!

I suspect that what I thought are old photos are not.
ReplyDeleteThey look as photos used to look an I'm wondering if you are using a special camera. Not that I know much about them but I'm guessing they aren't digital? But what do I know.
