A car I just saw on College Avenue, Oakland |
Have to stop buying Aqua things, too much of it has made it into my life. I notice some people call it Tiffany Blue (smell you Princess Grace, as my friend Kenny would say.)
|
Handbag from Ohope Beach |
|
Sienna in her Burberry suede coat |
|
Lunch at Uzen in Oakland |
Paua shells keep sneaking their aqua into our house, little buggers.
|
Downstairs bathroom where you powder your schnoz
|
|
Told you. They're in the hallway too |
Oh but this is nice, isn't it?
|
Ohope Beach |
But no more buying aqua. My friend says here (In US) it seen as a bit of a Ladies Who Lunch kind of colour, and she wouldn't wear it, but I don't have that cultural reference.
Any addictions your way? Spill the beans on a Friday (within reason).
I love that color too, it just makes me happy, bring it on! Way too many pairs of ankle booties, lipsticks that reproduce in my purse and I seem to be going through a 'bag lady' phase. Stores here in Chico just stopped giving out bags so I think that addiction may come in handy. Excited about your news today, talented lady! Can't wait to read more.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
xx, Heather
Love your everlasting-pool blue in your pic.
DeleteYes we have that bag thing here and despite 50 of them in my car am constantly buying more.
Great colour on you Jody and you know that blue dress I like is a stunner with the updo. I keep telling you and FF that blue is for blonds; it always works well and go midnight blue instead of black and thank me later.
ReplyDeleteMy mum loved that Tiffany blue.
Love midnight blue since I wore it as bridesmaid for the brother's First Administration wedding
DeleteThey've just brought out a new Mini in that colour. It's def the couleur du mo.
ReplyDeleteI don't have addictions but go through phases. My current phase is having soup for lunch (made with stock) to help my increasingly old cartilage get a grip (as it were). :)
Totally addicted to chicken soup for lunch, have it most days
DeleteWell wear what you like, I say...the older I get the more I loathe the rules - it eliminates whole categories of colour and you look fantastic in it.
ReplyDeleteRules to be broken, agree
DeleteOh foo....forget what people say...that colour is pretty and so is your stuff.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I have any addictions...will give it thought..x
Not even shampoo?
DeleteI like aqua but it feels foreign to me. The stone and the color doesnt' do well in this British light. Yet it feels so right in the sun.
ReplyDeleteYes maybe the jewel tones for Britain? Can't even remember what I wore there back 12 years ago ...loads of navy I think
DeleteI do remember painting our bedroom a really deep yellow with orange curtains and it was not too bright!
DeleteHello Jody,
ReplyDeleteAt least you can SEE your Aqua clothes and accessories in your wardrobe.......unlike our black hole where the odd flash of white brings a highlight to an otherwise monochrome palette.
Aqua is such a joyful colour and that seems to us to suit so perfectly your jolly personality.and, we positively love the idea of wearing a ski jacket with no snow. Perfect!
Ladies Who Lunch could not describe your social milieu from what we read. You are far too much your own person. You surround yourself with things and people whom you love with all your heart. You add sunshine to life and light up the lives of others in the process. Aqua, Navy, Paper Bags.......you could wear them all and look fabulous. The smile does it!
Hello Hattats,
DeleteJust realised I do lunch - evidenced by the Uzen but not accompanied by the standup handbags.
haha quite the collection as Aqua fills the reflection
ReplyDeleteNarcisirama?
DeleteI'm addicted to navy, chocolate, and socks. Hmmm...interesting combo. I'd wear aqua everyday if some one took me to lunch. I'm quite a slut when it comes to a free meal.
ReplyDeleteMe too on the navy. I'm scared to buy socks as Cy knicks them anyway
DeleteLove all shades of blue. My addiction is for teeny, tiny things, doesn't matter what it is if it's tiny I want it.
ReplyDeleteLilliputlian loving
DeleteLove the license plate on that car and I love that view of the beach in the last pic!
ReplyDeleteLADIES WHO LUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNEVER HEARD THAT BUT WE LUNCH DON"T WE!!!!!!!!!
I love aqua, especially on you blondes, but I always felt a bit like I'm a beacon of too-much-blue when I've worn it. Love that car though… I could wear that.
ReplyDelete(And I think you'd be way too much fun for Ladies Who Lunch!)
I love this aqua! It really flatters you Jody. Something about this color makes me happy....Maybe it's the connections with beach vacations and all that! I thought the Vogue with Sienna was the prettiest cover ever! x Kim
ReplyDeleteI love aqua! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia www.lumublog.com
That's a great colour, especially for blondes. Love the laser cut bag! I'm obsessed with grey clothes and tatty bits of fur. It's a problem. Tiffany blue is a much better signature!
ReplyDeleteOh, I really dislike aqua/turquoise/sea-green unless it is being sported by some warm tropical water I'm just about to dip my toes into. Elsewhere, the colour just agitates me!
ReplyDeleteI do love that color though. Mine is probably pink, although I don't have it all over the house, just in my closet. I have one of the pale (and wan) English complexions that seems to be getting paler as I get older. I can't wear any pastel color unless I want people to think I'm about to faint, so my closet is full of "jewel" tones, as they call it. I have to be very careful in my clothes choice though - 'cause don't old ladies like their jewel tones too?
ReplyDeleteIt's not a colour I can wear although I do think a splash here and there goes really well with dark chocolate brown!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a colour which instantly makes me think of holidays in the sun as that's the only time I wear it and I think of the sea too! Our laundry room is aqua. An improvement on the previous owners dark green! Ohope Beach looks stunning - fabulous photo!
ReplyDeleteI am a bit of an aqua/turquoise girl myself. I even have two aqua cashmere cardies, don't you know (smell me!) x
ReplyDeleteOddly I recently had a reiki session and was told to visualise my favourite colour. I chose turquoisy blue - off the top of my head - and she later said your Mediterranean sea colour. No I said to myself - to me the Med is dark blue. This is the colour of the sea in Queensland and immediately got a flashback of Alastair in a very smart white panama which he wore in Oz. Then he was bathed in an intermittent golden light and I kept trying to hang on to it.- to the image. Sorry to blether on.
ReplyDeleteJust lost my long, blethering, fairly irrelevant comment. Briefly that was the colour I visualised in a recent Reiki session and thought of the sea in Queensland- got an image of Alastair in a white straw hat he used to wear there. Then he was bathed in a golden light which I kept trying to hang onto. That's it.
ReplyDeleteWhy eschew aqua? It is a wonderful color. Embrace and love the aqua, I say!
ReplyDeleteYou know what color sucks? White. White on the car, on the roof, all over my yard, piled up at the end of my driveway so high that I clutch a rosary as I pull out into the street...
sorry...Im a little..unhinged. That comment about your aqua coat pushed some buttons out here.
House swap?
I've heard that same thing about the aqua colour, but who cares? It's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a happy Valentine's day!
Hi there! I just recently came across your blog and thought I would drop you a line and tell you how much I enjoy your posts. I love that blue pot on your front deck, omg, that's beautiful, I am going to duplicate that when it gets a bit warmer (I live in Vancouver, very cool and rainy here at the moment!). Anyway, thanks so much for a wonderful blog, I will be following you. xx Nancy (Stonecrop Sister)
ReplyDeleteOh I love this color also! I always think that it looks so good on you and I especially like that coat.
ReplyDeleteStill loving the aqua--especially for spring! Miss you on the blog fab lady!
