Who's seen the new Marc Jacobs outfits crowned with lofty, bloppy, loopy Alice in Wonderland hats? I hear you calling: "Jody, help me! help me! how can I wear this trend in my everyday life?" Well, as the doorknob said to Alice: "one good turn deserves another" - you've been great readers, now let me give you the benefit of my sartorial scary, er savvy. (No more Alice references, promise, it's getting a bit annoying...)

Grab a hat from your costume box or a child's room (ask them first) and just plonk it on. Luckily we had this Mad Hatter one. If you don't own something similar, order one soonest. It's a worthwhile investment and take it from me, will become a wardrobe staple. Dress it up or dress it down. As you can see I'm wearing mine to take out the rubbish and to do the grocery shopping - then out to dinner - and it works!

Don't want to toot my own trumpet but I think I've nailed this one.
you most definitely did!! i also think maybe you should consider permanent orange hair!
ReplyDeleteYes you have nailed it. It seems to go equally well with both the purple and the cream dresses. You look much better at the farmer's market than I usually do.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new header (is it new?).
I might not have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it re my rocket image this week.
Just adore how quirky you are.
By the by, one never tires of the Alice references.
Some of those models look a bit 'care in the community' .. and you look like a natural redhead.......ps you are rocking the frock!
ReplyDeleteWell, dressed like that, you should be singing Grace Slick's "White Rabbit."
ReplyDeleteI took a look at those prices. Is the man serious about those dollars for his threads?
hahaha! How much fun are you? You have made my day.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely nailed it! have a fabulous weekend:)

Splendid! Now I won't feel so odd wearing my flowered hat to the grocery store! Thanks Jody!! Love Di ♥
ReplyDeleteHot! I will keep my eye out for one today :)
ReplyDeleteDid you wear that hat to the market? I love it that you are crazy!!
ReplyDelete*Erin
Toot away, I do think you nailed it.
ReplyDeletep.s. some mad PhotoShop skills going on there ;)
Hilarious Jody. Personally I'm searching for a pink feather one like Pam Anderson used to wear. I love that you are also wearing a tight blue ruched ladylike dress to take out the rubbish!

Very funny!!! Hope you're having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLol! Jody this is so funny! Remember the "I love Lucy" episode? ..top heavy :)
ReplyDeleteleslie
This is too funny! I love your photos! I am completely inspired! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis has made my day. It's hilarious. And you are seriously telling me you went to the market dressed like that??? Actually, I think I prefer your look to all the Marc Jacobs ones - you rock! Especially in that blue dress!!!
ReplyDeleteYes to the market thing. One acquaintance buying bananas caught my eye and just said: "I don't want to know"
DeleteYou crack me up. I think you blended right in at the market... :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so fashion forward, thanks for showing us how a mad hat is the new black. I need to catch up, still trying out the last trend of peplums.
ReplyDeleteI am now feeling very inadequate, you are dressed more chicly taking out the trash than I am for the finest of occasions.
You are too funny! Wow- those hats are quite the statement piece! :) You wear yours much better than the models. And you got errands done while doing it. Bravo! :) A win win in my book!!
ReplyDeleteI think Marc may be contacting you for his next campaign but I think I might just give this great new trend a miss Jody. Still laughing.
ReplyDeleteJody, I don't need Vogue, I have you!! I need to up my game for garbage takeout!

Brilliant idea - hats with hair! I can see me being an early adopter on this trend...
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, but as a bloke I'll have to adapt.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of this one.
The Goodies in flat caps, maybe that's where Marc J got inspiration for his $3000 outfits after all...
DeletePriceless.
ReplyDeleteBut can you ride a bike dressed like that? Just wondering.

Lol! You are a brave, brave woman!
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny, I love humour like that!! The hatter indeed...marvelous!! Bianca Jagger...hmm..I'll take that one ;) xx

ReplyDeletexoxoxo
Hahaha! Honestly, you look fantastic! You totally nail this look!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this made me laugh out loud! It is ridiculous what some of the fashion designers throw at us on the runway. Although, I'm sure it's more for effect than what they expect women to wear. Then again, maybe they are serious about women sporting these crazy hats. No thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you are this hilarious on screen, I can only imagine in person
ReplyDeleteOMG, you are so funny. I can only imagine what a great time the fruit vendors were having watching you strut your stuff:)
ReplyDeleteOMG Jody, I just snorted coffee through my nose, you are a riot!
ReplyDeleteOh and I should not forget, Mad Hatter or not, I love your dress and your legs, your legs, they look AMAZING!
DeleteHahaha. Jody, I think I love you!

have just read in today's Guardian newspaper that the look is actually a reflection of the other favourite thing in your life beside Teddy the dog, oh and Kevin of course... Downton Abbey. We're all going to be dressing like Dame Maggie Smith in the autumn apparently!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh you are hilarious. So glad I found your blog.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so with you on the whole fashion run way shows. Sometimes it seems like it is more of a wacky costume party than something you would actually wear.
Oh dear!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog, and I think is pretty cute. Love the structure and pics quality. I’m gonna follow you, ok? and if you follow me back I will be very happy ;)
