It's that brilliant time of the month again - our First Friday Giveaway! This week my friend Laura, a personal stylist with Stella and Dot, is offering the La Coco Chain ($69) which, quite frankly, goes with anything. To be in to win, simply make a comment below. The winner will be drawn randomly next Friday 11th March.
Add a brooch to La Coco or wear it by itself. Wind it round twice or let it be long. It can be preppy, boho chic or simply playing ukelele in the islands.
That's our theme today: flexibility. The weather here in the Bay Area has been Four Seasons In One Day - so Lisa and I have chosen one thing in our wardrobes which can be worn come rain, hail or shine.
Jody: My Missoni cardigan is second hand from Maribel's. Which some folk call up-cycling. Oh la la! It's quite distinctive, as is any Missoni piece, but surprisingly adaptive.

Lisa: This jacket is a terrific basic but with a twist. I love that it's cropped, I love that it's cinched at the waist, that it's lightweight and super comfortable, and I love the little updated ruffle along the back. Plus, it doesn't hurt that it looks more expensive than it is! The big reveal....it's from H&M!(Approx $30!)
I think the Starsky and Hutch winter outfit is the riskiest (trial and error is part of the fun, no?) but I'm crazy about the fact that the jacket can help pull together both dressy and casual outfits with equal effectiveness. It's obviously my new favorite go-to piece. For the price, I should go back and pick up another...

What's your favourite four seasons piece?
Love the chain & the whole concept of "fashion for grownups"! Fun post!
ReplyDeletemy favorite four seasons piece...my vintage orangy-red double breasted, gold buttoned jacket. You know the one. And I want that necklace!
ReplyDeleteI love that Starsky & Hutch winter outfit!! No error in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these pieces are great & highly versatile. My favorite 4-season pieces are my dark denim cropped jacket (never goes outta style) and a dark brown fitted lightweight faux leather jacket (from Target, @ a great price!).
I needed to come back and let you know that when I was about to post this comment, my verification word was "targe"... how fitting =).
Love it love it love it! And adore Stella & Dot...always so unique and chic!
ReplyDeleteOooh love your missoni cardigan!!
ReplyDeleteHmm...my favorite all season piece is a pair of jeans XD (I know, I'm a cheater...thats an easy answer)
And that necklace is awesome! :D

Fun post! Sometimes I feel like we only have one season up here instead of four, but my favorite item is a raw silk Elie Tahari short sleeve jacket that is perfect layered when it's cooler and beautiful with just a tank and jeans when it is warmer...and it would look very nice with the Stella & Dot necklace (hint hint)!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Katie
Love your blue leather jacket from the Gap! You ladies are so stylish...I need to get on board the style train! I have a black little open sweater that I love to wear over a cute tank. Its good for any day! :) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteyou can always use a simple gold chain...so versatile...i love it.
ReplyDeletebtw, but blouse in the last post is pink/fuchsia. it's really hard to photograph and get the correct color!

I like this feature. My favorite Missoni look is the one with the poncho because I love that little bit poking out and with the jacket I like it over the white dress. But both of you look amazing no matter what season.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite seasonless piece? My jean jacket.
i really like the gold chain
ReplyDeletei have a leather jacket that's the same color as that, and these are great outfit ideas for me to try. thanks! and that necklace is pretty. :)

you are oh so fashionable as usual..
ReplyDeletelove the chain, would totally help project "spice up my wardrobe" that i am in the middle of right now. currently feeling like all my clothing dates me and not in a good way.
You look better in your 40's thank I think I'm doing in my 30's! Maybe I too need this fabulous chain :) XO
ReplyDeleteGorgeous chain, love it! It is cold where I live and we very regularly get 4 seasons in one day, sometimes twice in the same day!! My favourite piece is a military style 3/4 sleeve Country Road cardigan in charcoal, layered over or under, it is perfect in every season. I love the Missoni cardigan, so versatile and looks great with everything.
ReplyDeleteLovely chain! My favorite all season piece is a camel colored Ralph Lauren vintage leather jacket. It is worn gorgeous and looks at home with jeans and pants.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be part of this giveaway! Beautiful necklace! Thanks! My favorite piece is your fall outfit- I love a comfy poncho! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Missoni cardi is FANTASTIC!! Especially since it's second hand. Love it. Love how you combined it with blues, green and gray.
ReplyDeleteLisa,
Yes, I agree "trial and error" IS part of the fun, but I don't see any errors... Just Fabulous ;)
take care, girls.

p.s.
love the giveaway necklace. with or without a brooch attached- it's beautiful!
This makes me want to go out tomorrow and buy a short leather jacket. Love the looks. That is also a lovely necklace.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Really versatile pieces, love both of them. Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteMy most versatile, all-season piece is my Calypso "Julia" wrap dress, in ivory...in summer with metallic strappy flats and bare, tan legs, in Fall or Winter over leggings or jeans with boots...and in Spring, sandals OR boots, depending the weather. I frequently DO wear the LaCoco chain with it, along with the ivory enamel flower brooch - very Chanel looking:-)
ReplyDeleteI love both of your all-season pieces! Mine is slightly embarrassing: cowboy boots. I picked up this pair of Tony Lama gorgeously-burnt-caramel-colored boots in El Paso 10 years ago, and do not wear them nearly as much I as I want to. But when I do, Fall with bootcut jeans and a courduroy jacket, Winter with a chunky black t-neck sweater and my Citizens black skinny jeans (let's be honest, they're jeggings); Spring and Summer (Bay Area) with denim and a tee. I think the LaCoco chain would work with any of those...am I right?
ReplyDeletebeautiful necklace :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous necklace! The only thing that will work 4 seasons here is a pair of Tory Burch flats! It is so hot here in the summer, that my wardrobe really does change!
ReplyDeleteOhhh this is such a classic piece! Thank you for such a generous giveaway! Would love to win it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!!!
xx

ReplyDeleteLove the poncho you are wearing in one of the pics. You know that you'd freeze your little bum off if you wore that here in winter, right? See, benefit of living in NZ... Plus, I have pigmentation. And I am living in England, for crying out loud!!!

Love your Missoni sweater - what a find! I can't think of a 4 season piece - maybe a basic white tee....it's so cold here in the winter and so humid in the summer that there's not a lot of 4 season dressing!
ReplyDeleteI love that spring outfit with the pink skirt! So cute!
ReplyDeleteLove all these styles! I love my Target found leather-like dark brown jacket with ruffle collar.
ReplyDeleteBeing over 40 with small children finding time to dress like a grown up is tough! Love your blog, glad you found me. Love the necklace too. Will be back for more!
ReplyDeleteAh, I love that necklace! My friend has it with a brooch and matchings earrings and she let me borrow it for a wedding last week. I would LOVE to have one of my own.
ReplyDeletePick me, pick me!
